Launched in France in 1944 by Gaston Gromier, ONDULINE was a family-owned business until it was sold to private equity funds in 2006. We are specialized in innovative roofing systems, and have continuously been growing, until leading the market of lightweight roofing systems.
Today, we operate in more than 100 countries and employ about 1,450 people around the world. This enables us to better understand market needs and address them with the right solution.

Our Milestones
For about 80 years, ONDULINE's strategy has successfully combined growth and international development.
The cellulose-bitumen-based roofing and under-roofing material known as ONDULINE was invented and launched on the French market in 1944 by Gaston Gromier.
Since then, our core business has focussed on manufacturing lightweight roofing sheets made of recycled fibers and bitumen for pitched roofs.
We are the undisputable leader in this segment, manufacturing more than 95% of the world's production of bitumen sheets.
Expanding from the historical « core » to more technical solutions, we have extended our business to roof lighting & cladding, waterproofing membranes, and underlayers…
